 John A. Dumot, D.O.John A. Dumot, D.O., is vice chairman of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Cleveland Clinic, and a staff member since 1999. A board-certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Dumot has special interests in gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, Barrett's esophagus and endoscopic cancer therapy. Dr. Dumot’s awards and honors include “Doctor of the Year” in his department, the Stewart Fellowship for the humanistic approach to medicine, and ACG/Astra Merk Senior Fellow Award. He is active in the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, reviews for the leading journals in his specialty, and is on the curriculum and admissions committees of the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine. Dr. Dumot has authored and co-authored studies on aspects of endoscopy and the treatment of liver disease, pancreatic disease, and other gastroenterological disorders, and is researching new diagnosis and treatments for Barrett’s esophagus, gallstone disease and pancreatitis. Dr. Dumot received his doctorate at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. He was chief medical resident at Cleveland Clinic, and completed fellowships in Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at Cleveland Clinic. |
