Loutfi Sami Aboussouan, M.D.
Loutfi Sami Aboussouan, M.D., is a pulmonologist in the Cleveland Clinic Department of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine. His special interests include general pulmonary medicine, neuromuscular diseases, sleep medicine, and long-term ventilator care.

He is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Physicians, and is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Aboussouan has been principal investigator in several clinical trails, and has published original research and review papers in leading medical journals. He has written textbooks and book chapters on his specialty, and is a frequently invited lecturer at national and international meetings. He contributed to and is the course director of the second-year pulmonary curriculum at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of medicine.
Dr. Aboussouan received his medical degree from American University of Beirut. He was a resident in Internal Medicine at American University Medical Center, and Good Samaritan Hospital/Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. He did his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
Before coming to Cleveland Clinic in 2003, Dr. Aboussouan was director of the Pulmonary Care Unit at Harper Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
