Gordon Bell, M.D.

Gordon Bell, M.D., is vice-chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and section head of spinal surgery in Orthopaedics at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He also is a staff member in the Spine Center and has a joint appointment in the Department of Neurological Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Bells clinical interests include degenerative conditions of the cervical (neck) and lumbar (low back) spine, athletic spinal injuries, and spinal tumors. Dr. Bell has been listed in the Best Doctors of America.

Board-certified in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. Bell is an active member of numerous national and international professional societies including the North American Spine Society, the International Society for the Study of Lumbar Spine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Association. In addition to authoring numerous articles and book chapters, Dr. Bell is a co-editor of two textbooks. He also serves as an associate editor for Spine and as a reviewer for The Spine Journal. He as been awarded the Volvo Award for clinical research by the International Society of for the Study of Lumbar Spine.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Dr. Bell completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at The Cleveland Clinic. He completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
